Having a good, sturdy fence is very important. It provides security as well as privacy, a key requirement of many of our clients. It can give a great backdrop to planting and other garden features. Or it can be a great feature in its own right. How cool is this fence? Here are some tips on how to build a fence…
A friend contacted me this evening for my advice (it’s a common occurrence but lovely we have knowledge we can share with friends and family) . He needed to know what depth he needed to dig for his new fence posts. I told him the standard depths of 600mm for 1.8m high and 300mm for 0.9m high fences.
That got me thinking that it would be useful to include a guide to building a fence on the blog. I’ve found this blog post which seems to cover most of what you should need to know. A bit of a cop-out linking to another blog but they did it well so credit where it’s due!
You might also like to read our blog on different styles of fence you could consider. It also shows some quirkier, unique fences that can be quite striking in some gardens as well as ones which provide good secure boundaries to your garden.
